Privacy Policy
Effective 24 August 2026. This policy covers Gurubotto on the web and the Gurubotto Android app.
Information we process
Account and profile information; school, teacher, class and roster records; teaching plans and generated content; attendance, assessments, fees and operational records entered by authorised users; support messages; subscription and transaction identifiers; and security, error and usage logs. Payment-card or UPI credentials are handled by the payment provider and are not stored by Gurubotto.
Camera, microphone and files
A teacher may choose a book/register photo, document, or voice input. The browser asks for permission or opens the device picker. The selected content is sent only to perform the requested import or transcription. Gurubotto does not silently activate the camera or microphone. The Android shell itself requests no native camera, microphone, contacts, location or storage permission.
Why we use data
To authenticate users; provide the academic ERP and AI teaching workflows; save requested records and materials; enforce roles, plan limits and school boundaries; process and reconcile purchases; provide support; prevent fraud and abuse; monitor reliability; and comply with applicable obligations.
Service providers
Gurubotto uses contracted infrastructure and processors, including Vercel for application hosting, Supabase for authentication/database/storage, OpenAI for requested AI generation or transcription, Razorpay for eligible web payments, Google Play for Play-distributed purchases, and configured email providers for transactional email. WhatsApp content is opened or copied only when the user chooses; Gurubotto does not auto-send parent messages.
School and student data
Gurubotto is intended for authorised teachers and school administrators, not for children to create accounts. Schools decide which student records to enter and are responsible for having an appropriate basis and access controls. Staff see only data allowed by their role and school membership.
Retention
Active account and school records remain while needed to provide the service. Generated materials follow the product's retention controls. Security logs, invoices, payment evidence and audit records may be kept longer where needed for fraud prevention, disputes, legal compliance and reliable school records. Data that no longer needs to identify a person may be de-identified.
Security and transfers
Traffic uses HTTPS. Database access is restricted by authenticated server routes and Supabase Row Level Security, with elevated service credentials kept server-side. No internet service can promise absolute security. Service providers may process data in regions outside the user's state or country subject to their safeguards and applicable requirements.
Your choices
Users can correct profile and school records through the product, control optional camera/microphone access in browser settings, download supported records and materials, cancel eligible subscriptions, and request account/data deletion. A school administrator may need to transfer shared school ownership before a personal account is removed.
